CORONAVIRUS VACCINES NOT PREVENTING COVID DEATHS
Covid-19 deaths are not being prevented by vaccinations, according to new research.
Researchers at Norway's Institute of Public Health found that people who had been vaccinated were no less likely to succumb to a Covid illness than those who hadn't.
They looked at outcomes for 2,361 Covid patients admitted to general hospitals and intensive care units (ICUs). They found that 70 of the fully vaccinated patients were discharged, whereas 183—8 percent of the overall population—had received Pfizer mRNA immunizations.
Although the vaccinated were less likely to require hospitalization and had a 50% reduced risk of needing intensive care. There was no difference in mortality rates between the two groups, according to researchers.
By last September, almost every Norwegian had been double-vaccinated.
